my fair lady

On my daily fix of stalking the internets and popular blogs here and there, I came across this picture posted by Olivia Palermo. It's something about cooking or cupcakes or how carbs can be your friend, but I didn't really feel like reading it. In all honesty, the only reason why I decided to open the link and break my 20 minute scroll session down my bloglovin home page (I only read a post if the picture looks good; I hate reading 5 million paragraphs about how someone's new candle has changed her perspective on life...) was because of Audrey Hepburn. This just reminded me of how obsessed I was with her as a child; it all began with My Fair Lady.

Obviously when you're a 10 year old living in LA and finally start to notice the materialistic land that is Beverly Hills, it all looks so glamorous and fabulous, 'ya get sucked in! And it doesn't help when after watching MFL, War and Peace, and Sabrina, you (I) want to be her. But after countless (and unsuccessful) times of trying to dress like Holly Golightly for your 'famous person biography project' in 8th grade, you think its time to move on. But the one role that will forever make me hate my life and wish I was a royal princess from some unknown kingdom in Europe was Roman Holiday. Ugh everything about that movie, every scene, every outfit; the moment she decides to cut her hair, that kiss with Gregory Peck; I just die of envy happiness.

Anyways, here's to you Audrey!

yesterday's flowers

Almost every store is getting rid of their summer collections, and this makes me depressed. No more crop tops and tribal shorts. Fringe bikinis and high-low skirts up to your kooka (unless you're a teenager from the valley). Don't get me wrong, I love me some shearling jackets and spiced colored jeans, but I always feel so free in summer clothes. And the new Planet Blue look book alleviates my depression with their chevy tanks, printed maxi skirts, and velvet kimono's. Plus they are KILLING it with the jewelry. Tis a shame that I'm broke.
